Driven Cover Story
St. Louis Business Journal reporter Nathan Rubbelke and photographer Dilip Viswhanat last week teamed up with designer Jacqueline Prins on an ambitious cover package telling the story of Letisha Wexstten, a woman born without arms who is building a company designed to help people with disabilities find jobs. "I could write several chapters on how Nathan followed through on his vision for this story, which he first pitched in 2019, or how Dilip found the perfect project to leverage his photography skills," SLBJ editor Erik Siemers said. "Those are all true. But I think what’s most notable about this story is what it says about our potential as storytellers in ACBJ. Thanks to Nathan, this story shows how we can apply powerful, long-form narrative writing to a local business story. And Dilip’s work shows that photography is more than just an accessory to words (especially when given the room to breathe by a talented designer like Jacqueline) and proves that we can deploy photographers as content creators and not just experts in business portraiture.
